Individual Project Assignment #5

What I learned from this course is how to finally use technology to my best advantage. For instance: I learned how to create my personal blog post, also, I learned how to use coding with Chrome with the installments of the app. There are so much things that this course taught me as a individual about the internet which seemed to be a foreign language at first. But, now I know what HTML, and CSS, stands for and how to create with JavaScript. JavaScript was actually my favorite part of the course learning how to do animations, I felt as though I was a web site designer. However, the most profound insight that I have gained from this course is success. If one wants to be successful they should know the basics of the internet. One can not get hired by a job if they do not have technical skills.

Therefore, the first important lesson that I learned from this course is that digital skills been around for a long time and it is only growing more drastically and freely. For example: smartphones (Iphone, Blackberrys, Galaxy’s and etc.), laptops (Apple Macbooks, Asus, Toshiba and etc.) or desktop PC’s, tablets, the list goes on but all are apart of the growth of digital skills. The second important lesson I learned this semester is that digital skills can be complicated but one can succeed with the right help. The last important lesson I learned is technology is only increasing and one has to be updated with their technical gadgets. Especially, in the work force one has to have the ability to use some aspect of digital skills. However, the specific actions I plan to take in college so, that I am better prepared for a professional career is simple. I plan to take more computer skills courses to learn more about the digital age. Taking this course was only the first step to learning how to utilize technology.

My First HTML Blog Post

What I learned about Google Analytics.

Google Analytics is the safest way to receive data from different websites. How google analytics work is by the four simple steps: data collection, processing, configuration, and reporting. Basically, a person can visit a website or blog post countlessly but each time google analytics is reporting the data. The tracking code has to be installed in order for the analytics to apply. The person visiting a website or page are page viewers. Google analytics record the page viewers by simply having a dashboard, motion charts that tracks the url, the browser, and also the website that referred one to the post or site.

What is CSS? Well, CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets. CSS is very similar to HTML but it is not HTML. Likewise, CSS properties are the background color, font family, font size, color, width, and height. CSS is specializes in the appearance of the website page.

WECHAT App

      In this course Career and Digital Age  it teaches how to use the internet and your computer technology device in a cool way. For example, the class teaches about web browsers, routers and tcp, networking, databases, statistics and analytics, and lastly machine learning. All of these subjects I did not care to know about till now. Its fascinating seeing all what your technology is capable of from making pixel like triangles, rectangles, and circles, move across the screen they way one would like is all what the class teaches.  However, relating to the article WECHAT that was from MIT Technology Review  states the new app is round the clock homework. This app was launched in the year of 2011 and has "650 million monthly active users" and users are still increasing til this very day. The app requires that all students in kindergarten, primary and middle schools to have a account its mandatory. Likewise, students like Zhang Zehao a seventh grader goes to school in the morning and its not over for him teachers have the connect with parents through this app that at everyday at seven a new math homework assignment is assigned and if any problem is wrong one has to correct it and upload on the app by midnight. 

 This is Zhang Zehao ; the pressure for Zhang is a good influence because this app helps the children's who has trouble in math get help. With math one has to do round the clock work because learning math is like learning a different language. 

    WeChat app is a chinese cultural dynamic thats connects teachers and parents together. I wish in the United States we have this app , the saying always stands people raised in other countries are smarter and advance than people who were brought up in the states. I love how the teachers care so much about the child's performance especially at such a young age in kindergarten.

This article relates to my profession of study Social Work due to the fact that children are involved.  Also, this helps to see the child's growth in school and a home setting. Social workers varies on where one would want to take the their level of degrees. Likewise, brings to my point whatever job a Social Worker gets would result in working with technology. My direction I would not be working with tech but with children and adults. So, this article has children involved in a positive aspect.

Interview with Xiaoyan Zhang

What I learned about interviewing Dr. Zhang he is a very successful individual he has his PhD from then University of Pittsburgh and he majored in sociology. Dr. Zhang was the CEO of KIT Solutions LLC for seven years but then merge his own company with Mosaix Software Inc. Dr. Zhang is currently the chairman of his company Mosaix Software. Mosaix Software Inc is mainly about helping their customers collect data and know how to manage it. The collection of the data involves in social service, service delivery, age, ethnicity,  and what services to provide.  Likewise, providing customers with good software. However, Mosaix company is cloud based so, one would not have to deal with the problems of what software to purchase, or even the servers support system. Interviewing Dr. Zhang was a learning experience, I learned about his company it was interesting. Thank you Dr. Zhang for giving me the chance to know more about Mosaix Software Inc.

Social Work Computing and Digtal Skills Applied To Benefit YOU

So, for this assignment I had conducted an experimental survey based about my field of study which is Social Work and to see what one knows about computing and digital skills. Likewise, this would my first time doing a survey and having to wait to see the responses of my professors and peers had wrote. It was nerve wrecking at first trying to get everything together and had a few malfunctions along the way but all in all this assignment was pretty easy and simple.  However, my survey results had a total of eight responses and with that being said;

• Five females

Ages

•  20-29 were 66.7%
• 40-49 were 33.3 %

Also, the when asked what does one know about computing and digital skills the response was 33.3%  of everything

The ideas and concepts I had learned from the course Career and Digital Age was that how to utilize the internet more efficiently and learning about URL, HTTP, and also learning how to do a survey and being able to see the results to it. Likewise, this is basic information that I did not know before and still has more to learn with the future assignments. But, for my major social work this taught me a lot that I can now pass onto other people and increase their knowledge as well. Thanks Dr. Chung and Dr. James your help is much appreciated.
