STAND UP For Social Work by Jayquana and Tiana

What social workers job basically deals with is “the professional activity of helping individuals, groups or communities to enhance or restore their capacity for for social functioning and to create society conditions favorable to their goals.” Likewise, social workers main goal is to care, cure, and changed the society. However, the major companies and organizations in this industry would be the social services agencies, non-profits organizations, and other governmental services such as charities. In fact an example would be Pittsburgh two agencies such as Jewish Family and Children Service and Islamic Center coming together to bring refugees into Pittsburgh and have the refugees get settled and feel safe. They are a ton of social workers behind the scenes looking to provide care for these families in tough times such as war in Syria. Therefore, One digital innovation that I am aware of in this industry is when college students have to do internships to provide hands on training to the students that are majoring in social work. Digital innovation can be used to integrate digital communications, including social media, into social work training that provides opportunities to engage with other students on a different level. It influences how students will come to practice, and their competency in accessing and being part of the digital innovation. Students sometimes used audio podcasts in the social work field.
